Owning something means you are free to share and pass it on.
The worlds greatest peer to peer music sharing app is back!
Nostr for discovery & Tor for private downloads with no IP leaking.
Available for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
Deadwax is bringing music sharing back with modern privacy. Searchable catalogues are published through Nostr while audio transfers travel through authenticated, temporary Tor onion services. There is no central Deadwax tracker and no central file store. Read about the Deadwax privacy model.
Users share music from a folder, and their catalog is published over Nostr. Deadwax negotiates download requests through private Nostr DMs, while Tor handles the downloads, keeping users’ IP addresses private.
Deadwax includes the classic interface, live Nostr catalogue search, encrypted NIP-17 negotiation, fastest-responsive temporary onion transfers, automatic seeder failover, and complete-file SHA-256 verification. Choose your version and download it now.
